Supply of Raw Materials in Parts of Flexible Polyurethane Foam Supply Chain Remains Critical

Flexible polyurethane foam is a polymeric material  which is produced by combining two main substances: polyols and diisocyanates; as well as other minor components such as water. When these substances are mixed together, they react almost instantly - creating PU foam.

Following an earlier note shared on 19 October on disruptions in the flexible polyurethane foam supply chain caused by a combination of closures for maintenance and force majeures at chemical raw material suppliers, bad weather in the Gulf of Mexico and unexpectedly high demand for foam, we wish to provide a new update on the situation.
